On August 29, FOROP held a grand launch ceremony at its Chengdu base for the Group’s 19th globally advanced film production line—also the second line at the Chengdu base. Attending the ceremony were Shen Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingbaijiang District Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department; Kang Le, Deputy Director of the Europe Industry City within the Qingbaijiang Economic Development Zone, along with other district-government and bureau leaders; Dai Yongzhi, President of the Sichuan–Chongqing Flexible Packaging Association; Chen Meixing, Deputy General Manager of the Corporate Banking Department of Chengdu Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC); Jiang Peng, President of ICBC Qingbaijiang Sub-branch; Li Zhenchuan, Deputy President of Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank Wuhou Sub-branch; representatives from PetroChina Southwest Chemical Sales Company, Brückner Group GmbH, Germany, key customers and partners; Mao Jianquan, Co-President of FOROP, and other Group executives and department heads. More than 60 cadres and employees from the Chengdu base joined the celebration.
Delivering the address on behalf of Board Chairman Mr Shi Zhangfeng, Co-President Mao Jianquan first expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Qingbaijiang District Committee, District Government, the Economic Development Zone, banking partners and customer representatives. He stated that the official launch of the Chengdu base’s second line is vivid proof of government–enterprise unity, partner synergy and team dedication. Chengdu base, as the southwest pivot of FOROP’s national strategy, leverages its prime location and complete industrial-chain support to further enhance the Group’s ability to serve western China and connect with Eurasian markets. With two lines now running in parallel, capacity and product-quality stability will increase dramatically, laying a solid foundation for rapid response to market demand and diversified customer orders and continuing to contribute to the industrial upgrade and economic growth of Qingbaijiang District and Chengdu city.
In his remarks, Shen Wei congratulated FOROP on entering production of its 19th (and Chengdu base’s second) world-leading line. He commended the company’s strategic decision to choose and take root in Qingbaijiang and its significant contribution to local economic development. He expected the company to use this milestone as a new starting point to further expand capacity, move into high-end markets, lead technological frontiers in the film industry and create a new win–-win chapter together.
After the ceremony, leaders and guests toured the newly commissioned smart workshop, getting a first hand look at FOROP’s sophisticated intelligent-manufacturing processes and cutting-edge technical strength. The new line is an 8.7-metre multi-layer co-extrusion film production line supplied by German Brückner, featuring the highest single-line capacity in the world for its width, the strongest automation level and best-in-class energy-saving and environmental performance.
With this industry-leading line now on production, FOROP has reached a total of 19 production lines, further cementing its position as the world’s largest producer of polyolefin film. Going forward, FOROP will continue to uphold an open and inclusive philosophy, collaborate on innovation with customers and suppliers, deepen cooperation in product R&D, quality improvement and service optimization, and drive the high-quality development of the global advanced-materials industry.
